Kuala Lumpur, July 26, 2007 Grand Bell Trading Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer and distributor of ladies’ undergarments, expects its annual turnover to grow to RM32 million by next year from RM22 million in 2006 after securing orders for its SKIVA products from neighhouring countries.
In a statement yesterday, its chief operating officer Steff Wong said the penetration into the new export markets would enable it to achieve the project growth. This year, it is optimistic of a 20% growth in sales.
"We are excited and encouraged by the prospects of SKIVA, being a Malaysian brand, as it is now fast gaining international recognition as a quality product in the middle and upper-middle segments of the market," he said.
Wong said Grand Bell had also secured a strong foothold for its SKIVA range of products in the Maldives, Singapore and Turkey.
"Our immediate target is to penetrate the other developing Asean economies and China as these countries offer strong prospects to fuel our export growth," he said.
Wong said export sales now contributed close to 20% of its turnover. It targets an annual turnover of RM50 million, with up to 40% from exports in the next five years.
He said 40% of its SKIVA manufacturing output was produced locally by its subsidiary Double Wonder Sdn Bhd, while 60% was produced overseas through an original equipment manufacturing contract.
Grand Bell will be among 300 participating companies at the Internatonal Trade Malaysia Exhibition 2007 (Intrade Malaysia 2007) to be held here in November.
Organised by Matrade, Intrade Malaysia will be held on Nov 12-15.
